Highlights from #IUFRO2024
We had an incredible experience at the IUFRO World Congress, where some of our Prospex Institute team supported our impactful forestry projects RESONATE project and SUPERB project, whilst also gaining insights useful for our other forestry projects ForestPaths, FORWARDS and INTERCEDE. Being part of such crucial work for the future of forests and societies is truly an honor!

It was a great opportunity for our SUPERB consortium to present together with the demos our joint efforts through diverse posters and presentations, including our work on Advancing Transformative Stakeholder Engagement. We particularly enjoyed sharing insights on our stakeholder involvement contributions during the session "Prestoration – combining restoration and adaptation – of European forests for people and planet."
Key Takeaways from the IUFRO2024 Congress: Let’s continue to tackle the complex forest challenges by placing stakeholders and local communities at the heart of forest management and restoration efforts, by strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration, and enhancing the connection between practice, scientific research, and policymaking.
A huge thank you to everyone we met and learned from. Your contributions made this week unforgettable! 🌳

It was interesting to read how the IUFRO 2024 highlights focused on sharing forest research and working together to protect nature for the future. As a student, I remember planning a short nature trip during a busy semester, and I ended up using take my online class so I could keep up with my coursework while still enjoying the experience. It reminded me that learning and real world experiences can support each other when managed well.
