ABSolEU: closing the loop on ABS plastics recycling

At least 85% of end-of-life ABS plastic, found in durable products ranging from toys to automotive components and daily-use items such as shavers, ends up in landfills or being incinerated.
The ABSolEU project aims to develop and mature a technology for the physical recycling of ABS, providing a clean and safe recyclate that is free of additives and contaminants to reintroduce it into the value chain for the production of new products.
Prospex Institute's Role
As part of the project, Prospex Institute has been tasked with a thorough stakeholder mapping and organisation of Europe-wide events gathering citizens, policy makers and experts. The goal is to better understand their needs and barriers to facilitate the industry’s uptake of the ABSolEU recycling technology, leading to a more circular ABS plastic value chain.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement number 101058636.
